Booster seat laws were recently enacted in New Brunswick. In British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador the rulles are set to change on July 1st. Sick Kids Canada produced a comprehensive chart summarizing booster seat and child seat requirements by province and territory. The excerpt below (click on it to see the full document) lists the requirements for the provinces that mandate booster seat usage. Of course, we believe all children should use appropriate child restraints in the car until they are big enough to pass the 5 step test, even if the law says they are old enough for adult seatbelts. Otherwise, it just isn’t safe.
